Willie J is a native of East St. Louis/Washington Park, IL USA. As a young boy, he was faced with many challenges and struggles. Standing tall in his years of growing pains, he conquered many fears. He suffered losing several close family and friends throughout his journey. These events caused him to push harder and to ignite his passion of writing and singing while striving to perfect other gifts. Having the will to succeed, with faith and perseverance, has helped to usher him into the man he is today.

After years of hard work, Willie J has been given opportunities above and beyond his expectations. Some of these chains of events have been newspaper features with celebs: Beyonce’, Floyd Mayweather, Gucci Mane, Terrence Howard, etc. The featured magazines over time: Modern Drummer, XXL, the front cover of Music Nation magazine, and the most recent, a national front cover shoot and interview with Stardom101 Magazine, who have also featured Kendrick Lamar, K. Michelle, 50 Cent, and many more.

His most recent success is his new hit single, Moving Up, which has been climbing three Global charts, two of which was spotlighted in the top-20 DRT, peaking at #14. Another single, Level Up, reached #7 in the DRT Independent chart. Also released in 2018 was the Exit the Dragon album.

Willie J released his single, Sunshine With the Rain, featuring Arthur “Flash” Johnson, who is a four-time World Boxing Champion Hall of Famer. The tracked rose to #3 twice in the Euro Indie Top 200 chart. He is preparing and the Pure Mission Entertainment artists for national TV live performances on Hallmark TV “Home and Family” on September 26, 2019 and the “Kelly Clarkson Show” will be aired on October 15, 2019. They will be performing “We Love You Puerto Rico.” He wrote these songs in hopes of empowering people and changing lives.

We got a chance to catch up the international recording artist Willie J, here’s the latest and greatest on his movement….

SM- What’s going bro, good to hear from you again, tell us about what you’re currently promoting now?

I am currently promoting my 3 new hit singles ” Never Let You Go “, Hello Goodbye, and On My Last Day here singles that are coming from my album Ep I plan on dropping this year! This music is a follow up of new hit EP, entitled ” Sunshine with the Rain ” along hit singles ” Sunshine with the Rain ” featuring my NAACP Client Arthur Flash Johnson, then ” We Love You Puerto Rico ” which was written in dedication for the Hurricane Maria Victims hitting millions of streams. Along with the hit Anthem ” In the Morning ” written by Willie J. All together with the successful EP and new singles combined over 25 million streams worldwide have been accumulated. And with grate donations and proceeds for the causes. I’m dropping a personal growth book soon. And was featured will be hitting the I’m bestselling author status. I was asked to co-author a bestselling book with #1 2x bestselling author Lonnee Rey ” The book is entitled ” Rattled Awake ” and it’s dropping internationally top of next month (September)

SM- What values are important to you when you think about the kind of brand you want to build?

My values are being authentic, prompt, precise, wise and resilient. And be loyal.

SM- Who was a part of this project this time around that contributed to its success?

My Clients Arthur Flash Johnson, Crysta, Jade, my daughter Jazmine, and more. My production team from Los Angeles, (‘MuzicDortorz ) and President (Aaron Emig). And Stephen Wrench from the group Lynard Skynard pushing us on international radio.

SM- You have achieved so much success already, what continues to inspire you?

My Inspiration is God! And standing on my company brand and slogan! ” Creating Hope Through Arts and Entertainment ” and “Empowering People. I believe in what I call the “Law of Empowerment” and that’s if you empower others then you will be empowered in return.

SM- Why is this time around so valuable to you? And why now?

I believe that’s when I almost once lost my freedom 6 to 30 years in the max. And my beautiful daughter just 2 months away from being born! That surely changed the trajectory of my journey. And my mom passing from breast cancer one year apart from my grandmother who died from the same. It is why I am donating one of my news singles for breast cancer charity.

SM- What are some other things people can expect from you in the near future?

More new music, books, podcasts, concerts, speaking engagements, radio interviews and coaching programs.

SM- What is one final thought that you want to leave our readers with?

Never give up on you or your goals and dreams. Never lose Hope. ”
