Cal Murray, a dedicated UPS driver from Houston, Texas, has spent the last 50 years delivering packages and has driven a remarkable 4 million miles without a single accident.
Murray said, “The company’s commitment to safety training is what has kept me safe.
In 2023, UPS increased its safety training investment to over $409 million in 2023, which is $66 million more than the previous year. This commitment ensures UPS drivers, including Murray, are prepared to navigate challenges like increased traffic and distracted drivers.

“I drive one of the most dangerous stretches of highway in the U.S. and see accidents on a weekly basis” said Murray.
According to the UPS Newsroom, last year, Murray was one of the nearly 10,000 drivers worldwide who have driven accident-free for 25 years or more, collectively logging 1.5 billion miles without a single incident. As Murray celebrates 50 years of safe driving, Murray continues to mentor younger drivers, sharing insights gained from decades on the road.
