13 year old Savanna G. better known by artist name “Sunny Gee” is on the rise to stardom with her music. She is an Omaha, NE native and true lyricist. Her talent and tenacity for her craft speaks for itself. Sunny Gee loves to use word play with her lyrics and has a fun and energetic way of delivering them when she steps to the mic.
Sunny Gee recently went viral on Instagram with her rendition of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”. The video was a collaboration with Dumb Lit Studios of Eatontown, New Jersey and reached 2.9 million views in the first two weeks. “I received a lot of good and bad feedback. I don’t think people understand that I am 13. When I rap I am writing about my experiences, not theirs! I’m a straight A student, like to play outside with my friends, play the piano, and flame the mic. You either love me or hate me, but either way you’re watching. I’m truly blessed”, says Sunny Gee.
Sunny Gee is also known for her anti-bullying campaign and has received national recognition from News Nation for her efforts with her “Friends Don’t Let Friends Bully” Tour. Sunny Gee and her DJ, DJ Breezy Bri, travel the United States educating elementary students on what bullying is, the four types of bullying, and how to put a stop to it. At the conclusion of the presentation Sunny Gee performs several of her songs, which the students truly love. Sunny Gee began her music career after her own experiences with bullying at the age of 9.
Sunny Gee has a very colorful aura about her and it’s not just her pink and purple hair. She is a difference maker and brightens up every room she enters. “I am just looking to change the world with my music. I am so excited to be able to express myself during the process and appreciate everyone rooting for me along the way”, says Sunny Gee.
