Blu3chew Interview
At what age were you when you realized you wanted to have a career in entertainment as a rapper?
I would say I was about 24 when I had this realization.
How has growing up in Brooklyn New York impacted your music career?
Growing up in Brooklyn New York, gave me the bars and punchline side of music. I grew up on Fabolous, Jadakiss, Lloyd Banks, and Cassidy all New York rappers who created a lot of influence in the game and in NY. But as far as melodies go, I get that from my mother who always made me watch The Temptations movie until I fell in love with it. Eventually, I started watching it thinking I could sing like the Temptations.
Explain how DJ Self change your life?
DJ Self changed my life by playing my music on Power 105.1. Being from my specific area in Brooklyn it seemed like a myth because we had never seen anyone from our area Was Just A Myth To Us We Neva Seen Somebody From Our Area Make It On The Radio.
So When DJ Self heard my song in club Lust in Brooklyn, thanks To DJ Sir Manny, who played my song “Get The Bag”. After he heard it, Self reached out to me and told somebody to bring me to him for a convo so that’s when he told me to send him the clean version that he was gonna play it on power105.1. He changed my life because now I believe I’m good enough and able to grasp anybody’s attention as long as they give my music a chance.
How have you been able to remain creative during quarantine?
Its actually has been way easier to create music for me. Now there is so much to talk about in the world and so many different topics to touch on. So for me personally it is easier to create during quarantine.
Who are some of your musical influences?
My Musical Influences are Meek Mill, Fabolous and Jay-Z.
How did it feel have a video premiered on Hollywood Unlocked?
It felt great to wake up and see my video on there. I was like “yea let’s go”.
What are your plans for the rest of the year?
My plans are to work hard, pray, stay the same and chart on top 10 on billboard.
What is one things your fans and file let’s don’t know about you?
One thing people don’t know about me is how funny I am. Everybody tells me to be a comedian and I think my fans never seen that side of me.
